There isn't a normal market (veg, fruit, fish, meat, etc) in Torremolinos. The covered market building still exists but it is no longer used.
If you like wandering around markets then you should visit the Atarazanas Market in Málaga. It has fish, meat, cheese, and fruit and vegetables. The market building has undergone a refurbishment after being closed for a number of years and is quite spectacular.

The building at the top of Plaza de la Independencia (It was the Town Hall and then the Tourist Office) is due to become a 'gourmet market', El Sabor de Málaga. The venue has been refurbished but it is not clear when it will open.

There is a mercadillo, flea market, car boot in the fairground with the entrance in Avenida de Real. Here you can buy almost anything. This is held every Thursday and Sunday. The local bus (L1) goes close (Town Hall) and some go right up to the market.
For part of the year (summer season) there is a craft market in Plaza Costa del Sol and there is a Christmas market in the same place in December.

Other towns have street markets as follows:
Fuengirola - Tuesdays and Saturdays there is a flea market/car boot in the fairground.
Benalmádena - Wednesdays there is a flea market/car boot in Paloma Park in Arroyo de la Miel.
Benalmádena - Fridays in Tivoli World car park area of Arroyo de la Miel.
